Social Work Association (SWA)
The Social Work Association is a student organization, not only
comprised of program students, but all who wish to be a part of the
group. The SWA has participated in several charitable events, including
the MS Walk, NASW Conference, canned food drives, acquired social
work guest speakers and they have also assisted other groups, such
as PRIDE.
SWA Positions
- Chairperson
Plans and conducts meetings, acts as a liaison
between the institution and association
as dictated by SWA, calls meetings, and is a non-voting member.
- Vice-Chairperson
Assumes responsibility of the
chairperson in the event of his or her absence,
aids the chairperson in planning and conducting
meetings, and is a voting member.
- Secretary
Takes
attendance at meetings, helps with the clerical
duties of the association, and is responsible
for sending information to members.
- Treasurer
Records expenditures, reports
the financial status of the association,
and handles the funds of the association.
- Faculty
Representative
Attends regularly
scheduled Social Work program faculty meetings,
brings concerns and feedback
to said meetings, and reports
to SWA content and process of said meeting.
